A niche is a protected natural or artificial. We give the name of niche shelter made for dogs, usually located outside the houses.

all right.it's basicaly an architectural shelter to protect a statue or.....but animals use to go there to built their house(pigeon, bees.....that's we we human been gave this name for dog's house as well.understand??anyway.
